Construction Jack Up Barge HMSJU 247 arrives safely in SE Asia for LPG Terminal work
The 2,260 gross tonne Jack Up Barge HMSJU 247 has arrived safely in Batam,Indonesia after being towed from Dampier, Australia, to prepare for works on an LPG terminal in Malaysia.
The Jack Up was transported aboard the 80 m transport barge HMSJU 972, and towed by the 6,400 bhp tug HMSTUG 715. The convoy arrived without incident, despite poor weather during much of the 1,800 nautical mile voyage.
HMSJU 247 will now undergo a crane extension before being further towed to the Malaysia work site & supported throughout the project by HMSTUG 718
